Ramona's Future

By Robin Joy Maxson

Candidate for Board Member; Ramona Community Planning Area

This information is provided by the candidate
How I will work with our local Community Planning Group to guide Ramona's future.
The Community Planning Group members are elected to represent ALL Ramonan's, not particular areas nor special interests. I will promote respectful and productive dialogue that considers the economic opportunity, growth, open spaces and safety of our rural community.

  • I am committed to positive dialogue and will actively solicit ideas from everyone on issues that matter most to Ramonans.

  • A member of the West Subcommittee + part of the RCPG - I speak on behalf of sensible planning ideas and our rural heritage; while encouraging feedback.

  • As both a Ramona Trails Association member and a stakeholder in the County's Equine Ordinance update I will provide guidance to the RCPG on horse-related issues.

  • I have been actively involved for several years in working with many of our neighbors toward realizing the day when we can say that the safety and traffic concerns for Highway 67 have been satisfactorily addressed. In concert with others, I have initiated contacts with several of the state, county and civic jurisdictions that must participate, if a solution is to be found. I have requested that the RCPG establish an ongoing SR 67 Safety Subcommittee; which I will fully support if elected.

  • I support business activities that will result in more residents and visitors deciding to "stop and shop" on our "Main Street, USA."

  • The growing wine industry is of great interest to both residents and visitors. As a member of the RCPG I will encourage this agricultural activity while ensuring that impacted neighbors are part of the process.

  • I've encouraged the County to develop a comprehensive green energy plan that takes into account "visual impacts" and "dual" use for solar panels, e.g., panels on store roofs or as parking shade structures.

I can be reached at robinjoymaxson@gmail.com or 760-705-7435. I ask for your vote. Thank you very much.
