Candidate Statement

By Sangeeth "Sang" Peruri

Candidate for Board Member; Los Altos School District

This information is provided by the candidate
This is the candidate statement I filed with the registrar of voters that every voter will receive before they vote in November.
Sangeeth Peruri - Educational Philanthropist/Former Investment Manager

I spend the majority of my time working to improve the educational outcomes of children in California. As an LASD parent, I spend countless hours volunteering across the district including acting as Covington PTA's EVP and Auction Chair. I am a member of LASD's Technology and Curriculum committees and CACF. Outside the district, I work with numerous educational nonprofits, including serving on the boards of the Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula and Beyond12. As a venture capital and public company investor analyzing thousands of companies, I have seen which paths lead to success or failure. I am running for the LASD Board to:

1. Enable LASD to reach new levels of excellence through innovation

2. Leverage my educational and leadership experience

3. Find a permanent solution for the BCS/LASD dispute

4. Promote our successful model of exceptional small schools

As a board member, I would contribute my time, insight and energy to innovate and improve upon the already outstanding curriculum at LASD. My message is simple. Through empathy and understanding comes progress. By understanding the perspectives of all members of our community + parents, students, teachers, administrators and neighbors + we can forge a bridge to success.
