Greg Paulo and wife Lonna have a blended family of four sons, two daughters, eight grand children, one great grandchild and their yellow lab "Podie". The couple are a familiar site on their morning walks near their Gold River home with Podie. The family frequently gathers for birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and summer vacations. Greg and Lonna are extremely proud of their family and credit much of the children's success to public schools.

Oldest daughter Lynsey is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a double major in broadcast journalism and international relations. She has worked in four media markets as a reporter/anchor and been awarded five local Emmies for excellence in broadcasting. She was an investigative reporter and newscaster on KCRA Channel 3 and currently is employed by PG&E as media/communications director Lynsey's husband Darrin is a vice-principal at Ponderosa High School. Two sons, Todd and Scott, are deputies with the El Dorado Sheriff Department. Daughter Marni recently resigned as a pharmaceutical account executive for a national firm to begin a family. Marni's spouse, Fikir is a doctor who practices medicine locally. Matt is employed as a claims adjuster for Mercury Insurance. Both Matt and Marni are graduates of Sacramento State University. Youngest son Chad is the general manager of Servpro Carpet Restoration based in Jackson. The family grand children range from one year old Aydin to twenty-six year old Adam. As an experienced teacher with a passion for education, Greg understands the requirements for academic success. In retirement he has used the time and energy the past eight years as a board member committed to leading the district to academic excellence and providing positive leadership to the many challenges facing our school district. He continues to offer perspectives and ideas to address the serious issues that confront our district. Greg asks the tough questions and demands answers and accountablity. Greg was a teacher and coach in the San Juan District for thirty-eight years. His broad based experience included stints at elementary school (Orangevale), middle school (Louis Pasteur, Howe Avenue, Arden) and high school (Encina, San Juan, Mira Loma, El Camino). He had additional experience in alternative education, as an athletic director and department chair. He coached both girls and boys at the middle school level. His wrestling teams at then Howe Avenue Middle School, in the mid-seventies, held the national record for consecutive dual match victories. He's coached high school basketball and his Encina Wrestling teams were among the best in the area.

He received an AA Degree at Napa Community College wherein he was elected student body vice-president and was captain of the varsity basketball team. Greg has a Bachelor Degree in social science from Sacramento State, Masters Degree in school administration from the University of San Francisco, and life teaching credentials at both the elementary and secondary levels. He maintained, throughout his career, memberships in education and coaching associations. Greg has mentored numerous student teachers in his role of supervising master teacher. He's been recognized in Who's Who of American High School Teachers, received a Schools Financial Credit Union Excellence in Education Award, and twice been the recipient of the San Juan District Professional Excellence Award.

Greg has experience in the private sector as well. He worked throughout college in cement construction and at retirement was employed my the MMG Technology Group as an account executive. He has past experience with Oroweat and for the past thirty-three years has been employed part time by Del Monte Foods. With the latter he has been a field supervisor and reponsible for monitoring one of the company pesticide application programs. Greg has continually served his community coaching youth sport teams and on the boards of owners associations where he and Lonna reside. Presently he is the President of the Parke Place at Gold River Community Association.
