Anna Molander is a longtime public servant, parent and advocate for better schools. Over the course of her 19 year career she has served as a City of Sacramento Planning Commissioner, as Chair of the Sacramento City Unified School District's 7-11 committee and as a mentor to public school kids. She works as senior counsel for the State where she advised the Governor's administration on the implementation of a program that connected over 36,000 uninsured kids to health care coverage.

Anna has a solid reputation for building collaborative partnerships with diverse groups of stakeholders. As Chair of the SCUSD 7-11 committee, Anna was tasked with bringing together over two dozen community leaders, parents, teachers and school officials to develop a plan for reusing seven closed elementary schools. Praised for her effective leadership and ability to build consensus among community members during this critical time, Anna was strongly urged to run for the school board. She announced her candidacy with the endorsements of thousands of local classroom teachers, school employees, parents and community leaders who are supporting her because of the effective leadership she has brought to the district.

Anna is running for school board because the district needs a strong leader who can engage the community and work collaboratively with parents and teachers. She has a degree in Law from Hastings College of Law and graduated with a bachelor's degree from Cornell University. Anna and her husband Kai live in South Land Park with their two children. Her oldest child attends Crocker Riverside Elementary School in Land Park.
