Candidate for
Board Member; Cypress School District

As citizens of the United States we have a responsibility to participate in government. My role has been to be collaborative in making Cypress School District and the Community highly desirable.

As elected officials we are not there for ourselves, we represent the good of the greater cause. I walk out the door knowing the decisions that have to be made are not about me or what I want. I am the vehicle to facilitate the desires of the community as a whole that I represent.

Every student is a valuable member of our community; each with their unique talents and challenges. Each student must have the opportunity to reach their maximum potential with confidence, in the safety of a nurturing school with highly qualified teachers and staff.

In the 21st Century we find ourselves living in a global world/market. It is our responsibility to the students and our community to offer an education that gives them the life skills to be successful in this competitive global society.

At the direction of voters who passed a Modernization Bond all six of our schools have been updated with the infrastructure and technology necessary to provide the rich offerings our students deserve. With the Adoption of the Local Control Accountability Plan we have set the direction of the District embracing Common Core State Standards.

My focus will continue to be on educating students, supporting teachers and staff in this process and connecting with parents and the community when representing them.
