Mayor Rigoberto A. Ramirez

My parents have owned and operated a small business in Long Beach for ​46 years. Growing up they taught me many valuable lessons in life that I still follow to this day. One being, "Business needs community and community needs business". Together for many years our family and business participated in local events and volunteered in the community.

What I learned from my parents has helped me with my career as Regional Director of Client Relations with a retirement services firm. Since 1991 I have made many long term positive relationships with both employers and employees. It is awesome to see these businesses prosper and employees who I have helped secured their future economic stability.

In 1995, I married my wife Jhovana and bought our first (current) home in Stanton where three years later we welcomed our son Nicholas. The people of our Stanton neighborhood welcomed us and it became apparent we made the right choice. Our community is the perfect place to share our lives with and for our family to grow up in.

As a family, we have volunteered in our community for years at local special events and especially with Stanton Little League as a coach, manager and umpire for eleven years. Wanting to do more, I volunteered and was selected to the Stanton Planning Commission. This opportunity gave me insight to the needs of our business community and the responsibilities of a Council Member. Government constantly changes and a Council Member lacking this experience would have them spending their time learning instead of providing needed leadership to our residents.
