Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Bill R. Hall

Candidate for
Board Member; Brea Olinda Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate

Reasons I wish to serve another term:

In the next 4 years there will be a number of important decisions that will determine the quality of our District and the education we provide to our students. I believe these issues are as follows:

  • Allocation of the $25M in proceeds from the Brea Corporate Place sale (formerly BOHS)

  • Sale of the "old" Olinda Elementary Site on Lilac Lane

  • Anticipated sale of Brea Marketplace (formerly old BOHS site)

  • Evaluation of asbestos issues at all the Elementary school sites

  • Continue working on class size reduction

  • Update and repair of Country Hills Elementary structures

  • Resolve Reconstruction of Fanning Elementary School site

  • Development of a new Kindergarten playground at Laurel Elementary

  • Roll out and expansion of the Common Core program

  • Integration of web based learning opportunities

  • Maintenance and improvement of test scores as Brea's population increases

  • Recruitment Strategies for replacement of critical staff due to retirement

Only through sound, experienced and non-biased decision making will we be able to develop solutions to these complex problems. It is important that we work hard and creatively on behalf of our entire district and every student who attends our schools.
