After ten years of delay in the major Park construction, finally 688 acres of Park is under construction and is to be completed in five years.
After wasteful spending of over $200 million and delay after delay, I was able to reach an agreement for a private partnership to construct the 688 acres of Park within five years. Working with my colleagues on the Council Majority, a forensic financial audit has been launched to trace the whereabouts of the Park funds over $200 million. This has also prompted the Orange County District Attorney's investigation on the matter. The final and full report is expected to be completed in a month or two. The good news is that nearly 60% of the Great Park will be constructed in five years under Public-Private Partnership without costing the citizens any new tax.
