Diversify water sources

By Jan Shriner

Candidate for Board Member; Marina Coast Water District

This information is provided by the candidate
Explore all options to supplement current ground water supply: surface water, recycled water, and desalination.
Currently MCWD customers are mostly using one groundwater aquifer source that is believed to not be getting replacement water as fast as we are pumping.

Many State and County laws that have been in effect for decades are now being reconsidered or revised including the groundwater pumping reports, production reports, and desalination ownership and eminent domain.

Directors for Marina Coast are going to need to work with staff to stay updated and alert to connect with new opportunities for surface water, recycled water, and water for desalination.

I am forward-thinking, analytical, and hardworking.
