Replacing our Aging Infrastructure
EBMUD has more than 4,000 miles of pipe, many of them one hundred years old. We're experiencing small and large main breaks with increasing frequency because we've been under-investing in the replacement of our infrastructure. Only 10 miles of pipe are getting replaced every year and we are losing a year's worth of water every ten years as a result. We must do better.
