Candidate for
Council Member; City of Orinda

Bob Thompson has lived in Orinda with his wife Maryett for over two decades. They raised their three children here, and look forward to spending the next two decades as dedicated Orindans.

Bob graduated from Stanford University with a degree in economics, and later went back to earn his MBA from Stanford Business School. He served as a U.S. Navy submarine officer, and has dedicated a 37-year career as a financial investment manager. He currently works with Dodge & Cox, where he has been for over 20 years.

Bob and his family have a commitment to community service. He and his wife have funded the Orinda Police K9 program for years, as well as numerous other initiatives throughout the community. Bob has also spent significant time sharing his financial expertise with numerous civic commissions and community groups in Orinda and throughout California, helping them plan for the future and navigate some difficult financial obstacles.
