Voter Phamplet Statement

By Steven Onken

Candidate for Board Member; South Feather Water and Power Agency; Division 5

This information is provided by the candidate
Water Quality, reduced domestic and irrigation water rates, continued renovation of infrastructure, financially sound decisions and stewardship of Agency's water rates are my highest priorities.
I have had the privilege of serving the Agency for 24 years. From 1981 to 2001 as the Manager of the Agency's South Fork Hydro Power Project and the last four years as the Director on the Board representing Division 5. Water has been my 41 year career. Water quality and consistent supply are essential to the Oroville area. Even with the extreme drought of the last three years there have been no interruptions in quality and supply.

Our water is the best that can be delivered to you the end consumer. I am pleased to have been part of the policy making board that has been influential in providing that water, also the eventual Federal Relicensing of the Power Project and the 40 % reduction in water rates that have occurred over the last two years. No other water supplier in the north state has reduced their water raters.

Water quality, reduced domestic and irrigation water rates, continued renovation to infrastructure, financially sound decisions and stewardship of the Agency's water rights are just a few of the highlights of the last four years as your representative. I would like to continue these efforts in the next four year term.
