I've worked to make the City Auditor's Office an institution for investigation and communication that serves as a catalyst to make Berkeley the kind of city we all want it to be: transparent, ethical, and responsive to the community.

The Auditor's role is to be an independent advocate for increasing the effectiveness, efficiency, and equity of city services, and for safeguarding city assets. Auditors speak truth to power through out audits. It is important that we adhere to recognized government auditing standards to ensure that we are fully independent from city management, and that our reports are objective, persuasive, and rock solid reliable.

See more about what the City Auditor's Office does, and how our audits help accomplish these goals, at http://www.cityofberkeley.info/Auditor
