PAULINE CUTTER -- Getting the Job Done for All of San Leandro

Keeping Our Neighborhoods Safe

Public safety is Pauline Cutter's number one priority. Pauline secured the resources to keep five police officers on the job and lobbied Justice Department officials in Washington, DC for additional public safety resources. San Leandro just received federal funding for four more officers, bringing our total sworn police force to 94--the highest level in years. As Mayor, Pauline will continue to work closely with our public safety officers ensure we receive superior fire and emergency medical service.

Jobs for a Thriving Local Economy

San Leandro has made great economic progress in four years. The business license fee holiday Pauline Cutter advocated for has made it easier to set up shop here. Lit San Leandro created the first fiber optic loop in the region and is attracting high-tech to The Gate and advanced manufacturing across the city. She fought for expansion of the LINKS shuttle so workers can get to and from BART, our industrial area and the new Kaiser Hospital. Pauline supports construction of the new tech campus, which will bring 1,200 quality jobs to San Leandro.

Strengthening Our Schools

As an educator, Pauline Cutter knows strong schools build great cities. As School Board Facilities Chair for eight years, Pauline oversaw $170 million in investments that transformed our schools. On the City Council, Pauline has advocated for strong partnerships with both school districts, ensuring Burrell Field and the Pacific Sports Complex remained open for community use and the new high school health center broke ground.

Creating a Vibrant Quality of Life

As Councilmember, Pauline Cutter worked to bring back the Cherry Festival, save San Leandro Hospital, open the Senior Center, and keep our pools and libraries open. She also chaired the first meeting with the City of Oakland to address joint neighborhood challenges in the North Area. Pauline will continue to enhance our quality of life by attracting quality retail and dining options to San Leandro so people don't have to drive to other towns to shop. She will also promote economic development to revitalize Bayfair Center and the industrial area and opportunities that will put San Leandro on the map.
