• President Kennedy created the Peace Corps. As your State Senator, I will create the College Corps.
• My College Corps Student Scholarship Public Service Program will let students pay back their student loans through public service.
• I grew up in Nicaragua. My mother is Chinese-Latina. My parents immigrated to the United States when I was 15.
• Education changed my life.
• I earned my Doctorate in Education at USC, became a teacher, a principal, a school board leader and an adjunct college professor for Masters and Doctoral students.
• California's challenges can be met if we expand college opportunity, reward public service and relieve families from crushing student loan debt.
