As a local elected official and longtime community activist and labor leader, I have a track record of success turning communities around for working families. I currently serve as a Councilmember in Long Beach, as the Field Director for AFSCME-UDW Local 3930, and as an Assistant Pastor of S.E.A.M. Faith Family Church.

As Councilmember, I have an unmatched record on the issues of jobs and economic development, bringing together business, labor, clergy, and community leaders on programs that lead to living-wage job growth. During my time on the City Council, I helped to create 20,000 living-wage, union jobs, and helped to train another 27,000 workers who are ready to go to work. I have a history of collaboration with my fellow community leaders and elected officials. Together, we have made a positive impact on this district. I will bring that same level of leadership to the Assembly, to continue to have a transformative effect on our communities.

I am a proud, lifelong Democrat.
