As a Superior Court Judge, Susan L. Greenberg will be able to provide a greater range of judicial services for residents and businesses alike in our County. She has developed the appropriate judicial temperament necessary to fairly and effectively handle the duties of a judge. She will lead the Superior Court's goal to expand its use of technology to make the judicial process more effective and efficient.

Sue has served the County of San Mateo for thirty years, first as an attorney, then as a Superior Court Commissioner. She began her legal career as a Deputy District Attorney with the San Mateo County District Attorney's Office and later moved to a small law firm, and ultimately went into private practice. Sue handled civil matters, including family law, probate, personal injury and real estate cases. She was appointed as a San Mateo County Court Commissioner in January of 2000, and in that position has become known for her fair and compassionate approach.

Sue is distinguished by her substantive and diverse legal experience and her ability to provide taxpayers the most efficient application of the law. As a Court Commissioner, she has handled misdemeanor and felony criminal matters, including drug court and parole revocation hearings. She has also handled family law, domestic violence and child support matters. She routinely handles traffic and small claims cases. She implemented innovative technology solutions in traffic and family law and has been able to significantly reduce the backlog of cases and paperwork required to move cases forward.

Sue and her husband Joe have one daughter, Lilliana, who is 11 years old.

Sue received her Bachelor's degree in Economics and Accounting from Claremont McKenna College in 1981, and her Juris Doctor degree from Hastings College of the Law in 1984.
