Statement of Qualifications

By Motecuzoma Patrick Sanchez

Candidate for Council Member; City of Stockton; Council District 3

This information is provided by the candidate
My education and qualifications.
I am running for office to have a positive impact on the direction of our City. Having been born in Stockton and raised in District 3, I rose above many of the challenges too often found in our community. After graduating from Lincoln High and Delta College I enlisted in the Marines and served our country in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Graduating with high honors from CSU Sacramento, I was accepted into the prestigious Capitol Fellowship and worked in the State Assembly. I worked as a Legislative Aide and was responsible for providing analysis and recommendations on multiple pieces of legislation, some of which were signed into law by the Governor. I am completing my Master's in Public Administration, from the USC School of Public Policy. I possess the skills and intelligence needed to better serve Stockton and give working families a voice. I have a genuine passion for the community and determination to work through challenges to accomplish goals. As your next councilmember, I will work diligently to improve our economy by helping our business climate; create quality jobs; make neighborhoods safer for families; and ensure that our city government is run efficient and more responsive to community needs and concerns. As a father, I am fully invested in Stockton's future. Stockton is where my family and I call home. I believe with strong leadership and vision we can once again become "Someplace Special". It would be an honor to serve the community that helped shape me. http://www.voteforsanchez2014.com
