This is a copy of information submitted to elections officials by the candidate

Occupation: Vice President Board of Supervisors
Age: 57
Education and Qualifications:
When I served on the council just over five years ago, San Jose was one of the safest cities in America - now we are amidst a public safety crisis as crime increases dramatically. As a lifetime resident and businessman in San Jose, with 21 years of public service, I have the experience to unite San Jose, restore neighborhood police patrols and make our neighborhoods safe again.

As Mayor, my #1 priority will be public safety. I have protected public safety programs from budget cuts, fought to keep fire stations open, and created effective gang and burglary prevention programs. I am honored to be endorsed by business leaders, police officers, firefighters, teachers, and neighborhood leaders.

As a business owner, County Supervisor, City Councilmember, Vice Mayor and school board member, I have a record of getting things done. My accomplishments for San Jose include: Reducing traffic, creating jobs and fighting for BART to San Jose. Saving millions by investing tax dollars efficiently. Maintaining library hours and programs. Protecting our environment, parks and open space

San Jose needs a mayor with leadership and vision. I have the experience, record of success and ability to bring San Jose together to get the job done.I would appreciate your vote. http://www.davecortese.com
