As the Elected Treasurer for the County of Orange, I have brought Common Sense Leadership to the County of Orange.

Some of my "Common Sense Changes" at the County of Orange include:

  • Maintaining liquidity and zero loss of funds due to credit quality in the current challenging economic environment
  • Significantly increasing taxpayer use of no cost on-line eCheck options for property tax payments
  • Eliminating full color property tax bills which initially saved taxpayers over 20% in printing costs
  • Posting prior year's property tax bills online, which was a primary factor in reducing annual incoming taxpayer calls by over 30,000
  • Receiving the 2013 OC Taxpayers Association "Rose Award" for streamlining and reducing costs for property tax bills
  • Voting to eliminate negative amortization on pension plans which is estimated to save taxpayers over $625 million
  • Streamlined operational processes resulting in savings of over $20 million to the County since 2011
  • Lowering convenience fees on property tax credit card payments saving taxpayers over $1.8 million in 18 months
  • Refunding three years of overcharged investment fees, returning $2.8 million back to investors
  • Reducing school bond financing costs by over $1.2 million
  • Saving over $18 million for one school district by exposing poor bond financing practices
