Position Papers
MAINTAIN STABLE AND EFFECTIVE LEADERSHIP AT THE SHERIFF'S OFFICE FOR ANOTHER FOUR YEARS
The demands of the Sheriff's office are complex and require seasoned leadership to deal with the many public safety issues we face.
CONTINUE TO DEVELOP PARTNERSHIPS COUNTY-WIDE
During my term as Sheriff we have worked on building excellent relationships with our diverse communities as well as our law enforcement partners. Public safety works best with engaged partnerships.
TARGET VIOLENT GANG RELATED CRIMES AND MAJOR COUNTY DRUG TRAFFICKING
Gang violence is in the news on a regular basis in Monterey County. The County has a Gang Suppression Task Force which is constantly responding and collaborating with local cities within the County. Even more insidious is the major drug trafficking which is operating under the guise of legitimate businesses. I will continue to aggressively attack both gang violence and drug trafficking within our county.
