I grew up in the San Fernando Valley. I have one sibling, Michele. We were raised by our father, Jeff. In 1990, I graduated from Zane Grey Continuation High School. I attended both Los Angeles Pierce College and Los Angeles Valley College from 1990-1994. Thereafter, I transferred to California State University, Los Angeles, where I graduated Cum Laude with a major in Sociology and a minor in Criminal Justice. I received my law degree from Southwestern University School of Law, where I graduated Cum Laude. While at Southwestern, I was a member of the Moot Court Honors Program and Law Review. Also while studying at Southwestern, I received a number of awards for achieving the highest grade in several of my classes.

Upon graduation, I was hired as a Deputy District Attorney at the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office. I have tried 63 cases, including 20 murders. I am currently assigned to the Major Crimes Division where I try high-profile media cases. My caseload consists of murders and rapes.

I take great pride and pleasure in my family. I am especially proud of my husband Scott, who is a Lieutenant with the Monterey Park Police Department. I met Scott while assigned as a Deputy District Attorney at the Alhambra Court. We married two years later. We shortly thereafter had our son Gage, who is 8 years old. Two and a half years later we gave birth to our daughter Tarynn, who is 5. Between school, soccer, piano, cheerleading and baseball, they keep us both very busy. We also enjoy spending time with Scott's children, Kent, 23, and Kaitlyn, 21, and our three German Shepherds, Sierra, Gunner, and Skyy.
