We are at a crossroads in education. We need to rethink our approach to education if we are to help our students succeed in the 21st Century. LAUSD District 1 needs a complete makeover. I want to restore accountability, integrity and trust in our school board members because the community and employees have lost confiidence in public education and the Board of Education. We need leadership that will focus on our children and the needs of the employees and the community. I believe that we need to educate the "whole child"; the social, emotional, physical, moral and academic development of our children. We should be stewards of our communities.

The decisions that are made by the School Board have a lasting impact on the lives of our students, certificated and classified employees, and the community as a whole. As a candidate for LAUSD School Board District 1, I believe it is imperative to have first-hand knowledge of the culture, the organizational system, and have worked directly with the students, parents, employees and various other stakeholders. The LAUSD School Board must work together as a team to restore the public's confidence. We must have high expectations for all our students and employees.
