Donna Hollingsworth Armstrong has been criminal prosecutor with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for over 13 years. She has prosecuted in excess of 100 trials, including 21 murders. For the last 5 years, Donna has been assigned to the Hardcore Gang Unit, one of the most challenging assignments in the DA's office. Donna works hard to deter crime and violence and is now looking to continue to serve Los Angeles County as a Superior Court Judge.

Donna was born and raised in Los Angeles County and attended public schools in the San Gabriel Valley. She received a degree in Political Science from California State University at Long Beach. Donna worked as a staff member in California's 54th Assembly District Office while attending evening classes at Southwestern University School of Law. She then worked as a case manager at JAMS, a legal resolution firm.

As a Deputy District Attorney, Donna has handled a variety of complex cases. She was previously assigned to the Victim Impact Unit where she directly filed and prosecuted cases involving child abuse, domestic violence, sex crimes, and elder abuse. She was also the designated animal cruelty prosecutor for the Alhambra Branch Office.

Donna serves as a delegate with the California Conference of Bar Associations, which is a group of volunteer attorneys who work together to address issues and provide leadership in improving the law. She chaired the Los Angeles County Bar Association Delegation to the Conference in 2008.

Donna is married to Ted Armstrong, a youth sports-performance coach. The couple has a young son and two rambunctious black labrador rescues. Donna enjoys volunteering with her son's school and baseball team. She also volunteers with Project LEAD, a program directed at helping children learn about the criminal justice system and make wise choices when faced with peer pressure.
