Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Kory L. Honea

Candidate for
Sheriff-Coroner; County of Butte

This information is provided by the candidate

My name is Kory Honea and I'm running for Sheriff-Coroner because I want Butte County to be a safe place to live, work and raise a family. I have lived in Butte County for 25 years and want to preserve the quality of life we have historically enjoyed. My career has been dedicated to advancing public safety within Butte County and I'm uniquely qualified to lead the Butte County Sheriff's Office.

As the Undersheriff, I'm second-in-command at the Sheriff's Office and oversee the daily operations of the department. That includes managing more than 300 employees, a 614 bed jail and a $40 million budget. I have coordinated the development and implementation of programs designed to mitigate the impacts of AB 109 on our community. Those programs are proven to reduce recidivism and enhance public safety.

During my law enforcement career I have held assignments in corrections, patrol, investigations and management. I have an Associate's degree from Butte College and while working full time, I earned a law degree and was admitted to the State Bar in 2008.

I'm proud to be a member of this community and would be honored to be your Sheriff. Please visit http://www.KoryHonea.com for more information.
