As a State Representative, I take my responsibility to be your voice in Harrisburg very seriously. One of the crucial duties of this job is preserving the environment for many generations to come and I have cast votes to do just that. The PA General Assembly has debated and passed legislation to expand Marcellus Shale drilling. I am disappointed by the minimal extraction fee imposed on this industry. We gave away the store when we set our rate of 8% compared to the rate of 25% in Texas. We should increase this rate in order to collect additional fees that can be used for environmental protection efforts. |
