More parks and more recreation programs

We need to look for additional parkland to create additional fields and courts for all those who demand them.
Our city has a mandate to provide 3 acres of active parkland for every 1000 residents. We strive to get 5 acres per 1000 residents. Unfortunately we are still around 3 per 1000. In order to get to where we want to be the city needs to partner with landowners, such as CLWA, and raise the number of active fields and courts and pools to satisfy the needs of more than 200,000 residents.

We have award winning parks and we have award winning programs. We need to continue that trend. We need to be rid of waiting lists for programs and get people onto the playing fields.
