This information is provided by the candidate

My primary priorities as a School Board member will be:

  • Ensuring strong fiscal oversight and prudent allocation of District resources that continue the practice of providing the most robust program possible to all our children given the unrelenting fiscal constraints;
  • Maintaining our excellent schools--keeping the energy and focus on our students, ensuring the quality and breadth of our children's experience, and developing critical thinkers who are prepared and engaged;
  • Holding a strategic, long-term perspective that keeps in mind the entire K-12 program; and
  • Continuing the commitment to on-going collaborative teacher evaluation and emphasis on teacher development, including creative classroom strategies and how to use technological innovations to advance our mission.

Whatever issues may come before the School Board, I am committed to:

  • Collaboration, cooperation and open, honest and constructive communication;
  • Innovation and creativity, and willingness to re-think the status quo;
  • Seeking differing opinions to inform my and the Board's decisions; and
  • Creating a positive, respectful environment.
