Mario has earned the respect and support of many...

"Right from the beginning, Mario was an organizer. A person who could bring others together from various levels to create a plan or work towards a solution on any given issue. Our community has benefited greatly over the past 8 years from Mario's ability to bridge party differences, hence leading to a more positive end result. Right from the beginning, Mario was, is, and always will be dedicated to our people and committed to our community. I support Mario Oliva for re-election as Commissioner to Haverford's 2nd Ward."
Chris Connell Sr., 8th Ward Commissioner

"Mario Oliva is truly a dedicated public servant. He is hard-working, thoughtful, and tireless. Mario is always looking to take positive steps toward the future of this township with strong and sustainable improvements. It is my pleasure to serve with him on the Board of Commissioners of Haverford Township."
Jane Hall, 3rd Ward Commissioner

"Mario spent a fair amount of time on our front porch while campaigning the first time and I came to respect his sincerity and practical idealism. He's passionate about Haverford Township - working to make improvements in the quality of life here today - parks, safe streets, education, the business community, social events - without losing sight of the town's cultural and architectural heritage. He worked hard to see Llanerch Crossing Park become a reality; he's out there with the volunteers at tree planting days, the Heritage Festival, the Music Festival, the Twilight Run, and of course, invested lots of sweat equity in Freedom Playground. I admire that. His actions really do speak louder than his words.

While campaigning, Mario said 'Party politics have no place at the Township level' and that he wanted to be known as the 'history commissioner.' He may not be able to control the first part, but his full support for historic preservation, tempered with recognition of the rights of property owners, helped to make one of Delaware County's strongest anti-demolition ordinances a reality.

Citizens of the Second Ward are fortunate to have a commissioner they can approach with neighborhood issues and expect to get 100% of his attention. He will work for a reasoned solution every time."
Mary Courtney, Past President, Haverford Township Historical Society; Co-Chair, Llanerch Crossing Park; Co-founder, Haverford Township Tree Tenders

"Mario is a hands-on community leader. He not only attends community events -- he assists in the planning, preparation, and is an active participant in them-- exactly what you want in a Township Commissioner."
Chris Millay, 2nd Ward Resident

"I have worked closely with Mario on several major projects, including Llanerch Crossing Park, Tree Tenders, and Freedom Playground. His leadership in all of those projects was critical. I cannot think of another public servant who works as hard or takes his responsibilities as seriously as he does. He is committed to hearing all sides of an issue, thoughtful about his decisions, and skilled at bringing people together for the common good. He and I agree that partisan cooperation is paramount at the local level, and he has demonstrated that in his actions over the past eight years. In spite of our our party differences, I can't imagine anyone doing the job better than he does, and I back him 100%. Haverford Township and the Second Ward are very lucky to have someone so dedicated working on our behalf."
Jeanne Angell, Co-Chair, Llanerch Crossing Park; Coordinator and Co-founder, Haverford Township Tree Tenders; Past President, Llanerch Civic Association

"Mario Oliva is truly a man of the people. He cares about the township in which he grew up and where he has chosen to raise his family. He works hard to continue to improve the quality of life in Haverford Township through open communication and meetings with both residents and businesses. He is a commissioner that people can count on to get things done and he is a man of his word. These are some of many reasons why Mario Oliva should continue to be the 2nd ward commissioner of Haverford Township."
Tom Mininno, Past President, Llanerch Civic Association

"Mario Oliva was an integral part of fundraising and building Freedom Playground from the very beginning of the project. He saw early on the value that a fully accessible playground would bring to Haverford Township. Mario helped secure our initial funding which in turn encouraged others to believe the playground was a real possibility and that their donations would be well used. Not only did he support the Freedom Playground project as a Township Commissioner but Mario also personally took off a week of vacation in order to serve as a Team Captain during our build week. Mario continues to support Freedom Playground by volunteering at our annual fundraiser and maintenance days. I support Mario Oliva's re-election as Township Commissioner because I personally know him as a man of high integrity and vision for Haverford Township. Ann Young Phillips, President and General Coordinator, Freedom Playground Committee

"We are lifelong Democrats, but we vote for Mario, because he does a great job and doesn't let party politics interfere in Township matters."
Mary Beth and Chris Spencer, 2nd Ward Residents

"As a business owner, I have been seeking assistance with beautification in my district for years. Commissioner Oliva has assisted the businesses throughout my district with much needed beautification. In coordination with my Commissioner, Jane Hall, we were able to secure much needed funding for our district."
Brendan Goggin, Owner of Oakmont National Pub

"Mario is truly invested in our community. He seeks to serve us by making time to interact with Haverford Township citizens on public and personal levels."
Janis and David Richards, 2nd Ward Residents

"I have known Mario since our sons started school together six years ago. We are lucky to share the same interests in the community such as parks and recreation, civic associations, Haverford Trails, Merry Place, Sacred Heart Church, and Haverford Township Day, to name a few. These volunteer events that take place each year provide us the time to reflect on community issues and activities. Mario is an asset to our community because of his prompt response to questions and concerns not only in his ward but throughout the Township."
Tina Crognale, 2nd Ward Resident

"Mario has been excellent. He is very responsive, always calling back and often stopping by to follow up on an issue or answer a question. He is very accessible and has done a great job getting to know his constituents and understanding what they want. Not only does he share my values about the township but he also has the skill set to turn these ideas into action. I have been very impressed with his strong interpersonal skills and his action oriented style of leadership. Simply put, he has been doing a great job!"
Katherine Miller, Past President, Llanerch Civic Association

"As a homeowner in the Second Ward and as a doctor, I appreciate Mario's dedication to this community, particularly his commitment to continually improving the emergency medical services provided to the residents."
Caroline Bera, DO, 2nd Ward Resident
