I have lived in Haverford Township my whole life. I grew up in the Second Ward on Darby Road in Llanerch and attended the Llanerch School, Chatham Park, Haverford Junior High School, and Haverford High School.

My parents emigrated from Cuba a year before I was born to escape the tyranny of communism and to find a better life. My family is indebted to this country and to this community for giving us this opportunity. We truly cherish this country and the freedoms that we have in a way that many American citizens cannot comprehend. The chance to serve in public office in a democracy such as ours is a real privilege and honor for me, and as you can imagine, gives my parents great joy.

I now live on Garfield Ave. in Manoa with my wife Lisa and our three children, Gabriella, Jose and Mario, and our two dogs. I have been working as a computer programmer at AFS (Automated Financial Systems) for the past 15 years, and Lisa works as an executive assistant for AQUA.

As a family, we enjoy going to the shore, renovating our house, walking and riding our bikes around the neighborhood, and going on day trips. Since childhood I have had a passion for automobiles and over the years I have owned several classic cars and trucks. I have passed on that love of cars to my sons, and I enjoy taking Jose and Mario to the Chrysler Car Show in Carlisle every summer.
