? 1. What do you think could be done to make your position more responsive to county citizens?

Answer from John Emmons:

Building on my experience as the leader of wellness campaigns at work, I would promote good nutrition in our schools through three primary avenues. They would include:

1. Education of and marketing to students regarding healthy choices.
2. Make sure healthy and enticing choices are available to students
3. Educate parents of K-6 students on healthy choices and encourage them to practice this at home and in school lunch decisions.

Answer from Ed Farina:

The primary step in being responsive is close contact with community members in order to understand their issues/concerns about our schools and the education we provide for our students. As an active/involved parent and community member, I spend significant time at activities, events and meetings in our community. This provides me with contact with many different individuals and families across the school district.

Responses to questions asked of each candidate are reproduced as submitted to the League.  Candidates' statements are presented as submitted. Direct references to opponents are not permitted.
