James Wudarczyk, 61, is a fourth generation Pittsburgh resident. A widower, he resides on Fisk Street with his daughter, who is working on a doctorate degree in pharmacy.

A preservationist, he is active in the historical community. Wudarczyk is a frequent lecturer at various historical societies, genealogical groups, Civil War Round Tables, universities and colleges.

He is author of the books: "Pittsburgh's Forgotten Allegheny Arsenal" and "Until the Morning Cometh: Civil War Era Pittsburgh." Wudarczyk is the co-author of "Monster on the Allegheny...and Other Lawrenceville Stories," "A Doughboy's Tale...and More Lawrenceville Stories," and "In Loving Memory...and Still More Lawrenceville Stories." In addition, he has contributed approximately three hundered articles and reviews to various publications, historical newsletters, and websites. Most of his writings have local themes.

A frequent tour guide, in April 2013, Wudarczyk led 109 people on a tour of the architectural and historical sites of a portion of Lawrenceville.
