Questions & Answers

1. What are your qualifications for office?

30 years as teacher and department head and 12 years on both the Milford Board of Education and the Great Oaks Institute of Technology and Career and Development. As an educator I am personally familiar with issues facing teachers and administrators today. My top priority is our students and supporting those students in both academic and extracurricular activities.

2. What can be done to improve your school district's results at current funding levels?

We need to continue to integrate technology into our curriculum and to continue adopting new curriculum to prepare students for the Common Core testing which is rapidly approaching. We also need to take steps to make certain that we continue to attract and retain the highest quality teachers and administrators in the region.

3. What will you do to build consensus in the community in support of your school district?

Personal interaction with as many citizens as possible so that people understand the choices that we face on the Board and why we have made the decisions that have been made. I do this through contacts with citizens at athletic events and student activities where parents assemble. I also do this through organizations such as the Athletic Boosters and community service organizations.

4. What would you do to advance the concept of "equity in education" in your district?

Every student is a top priority and deserves our utmost attention. We must help to individualize education and to help each student to achieve their own ultimate potential.
