My overall goal is to maintain Wyoming's excellent quality of life. Wyoming is a great place to live and I plan to keep it that way. This means ensuring quality services, and meeting new challenges with that goal in mind.

I believe in sticking to what local government is supposed to do and does most effectively and efficiently. Basic services are providing good roads, good public maintenance, and safe and thriving neighborhoods. Schools are very important but are run by school boards which are totally separate entities from city government. Working cooperatively with our schools is a high priority for me and enables cost savings for taxpayers.

I am fiscally conservative and co-sponsored during my first term in 1982 the budgeting system that we still use today. I spent 8 years on Finance Committee getting everything in place and am thrilled that today it has brought us adequate savings for equipment replacement. It has also given us a AAA bond rating.

Today, Ohio local governments are all dealing with reduced dollars from the state. We have been increasing efficiencies for the last few years in anticipation of this occurring and are poised to handle it much better than most municipalities.

I am always listening to residents concerns and desires with an eye to long terms implications. The council role has never been about me, but about everyone who lives in Wyoming. I focus on big and small things for both are important to the quality of our city. As one of seven members of council, I bring these perspectives along with a "can do" entrepreneurial approach as we work to achieve goals.
