Questions & Answers

1. What services do you believe should be considered basic and essential for the Township?

Paramedic, Sheriff Patrols and fire protection. The sheriffs patrol is our main concern at this time. Big decisions will have to be made in the coming year. Currently the township contracts with the city of Harrison for paramedic and fire/rescue. The department does a great job serving the township.

2. How would you balance the Township Budget?

The township is in good financial shape despite the recent cuts of tax monies from the state level. Harrison township does not even have an operating levy.

3. Citizen engagement is important to the health of local government. In what ways do you support citizen engagement?

I would love to see the community more involved in township government. I would like to start a community garden at the civic center, a township watch program, where you actually look out for your neighbor, not just for crime, but to check in on the elderly and lend a hand to your neighbor in times of need. I know this sounds utopian, but I believe it could be accomplished.
