? 1. What are your qualifications for office?

Answer from Brittany Michele Feeney:

I am a mother of two in the district, so I have a significant stake in the success of our schools. I also have strong ties to public education in the Tri-State: my mother is a math teacher, my uncle a high school principal, my aunt a special education teacher.

Answer from Zack Whittle:

I have experience in manging people. I am the community Pastor for a local church. I am currently the youth director for the Mt.Healthy Alliance. My current duties include dealing with youth from the community, I understand what our kids need. I volunteer at NCH schools on a regukar basis. I have coacjed many kids in the area in football I have established relationships with the community. I organized a Unity in the Community rally last year when the National alliance protested at our school.

? 2. What can be done to improve your school district's results at current funding levels?

Answer from Brittany Michele Feeney:

We need to remove barriers to learning at all levels + throwing more money at a problem doesn't always solve it. We need to address safety issues and take our students' home lives into account if we want to improve results.

Answer from Zack Whittle:

The biggest thing that can be done to improve our distracts results would be for us to empower our very qualified teachers and staff. They are micromanaged and not encouraged to lead our youth the way they can. I

? 3. What will you do to build consensus in the community in support of your school district?

Answer from Zack Whittle:

I will encourage our board members to become more actively involved in school and in community events.

Answer from Brittany Michele Feeney:

We need to better celebrate our successes and integrate the school district with the greater North College Hill community. We should work towards improving our image and positioning ourselves as the leading school district in Hamilton County.

? 4. What would you do to advance the concept of "equity in education" in your district?

Answer from Brittany Michele Feeney:

The right to an equal educational opportunity is one of the most valuable rights we have as US citizens. This equality should ignore race and family income level, but it's clear by looking at Ohio school district report card data that more affluent districts in Hamilton County are outperforming our own. We need to do everything we can to address this disparity and give our students an equal playing field academically.

Answer from Zack Whittle:

I will partner with board members and teachers to further our efforts.
