Poor management

By Ted Donham

Candidate for Board Member; Modesto Irrigation District; Division 4

This information is provided by the candidate
The Modesto Irrigation Board of directors have commandeered the company, from a proud, financially stable, disciplined public utility, to massive debt, without a plan.
Although the Modesto Irrigation District is a publicly owned, (not for profit) company, for the past 20 years the MID has taken the the risk of expansion. The results have been disastrous. MID has acquired massive debt, and I see no real plan to address it.

If elected, my first priority will be to change the mentality of spending less of the ratepayers money on ideas that may or may not be essential. We will look at every dime spent and determine how and where we can do a better job. The ratepayers deserve better stewardship when it comes to there rates.

I see in the not too distant future, the Modesto Irrigation District should propose rate decreases. The past management errors cant be undone, only dealt with. This I will do.
