Diane Howard - Candidate Statement

By Diane Howard

Candidate for Council Member; City of Redwood City

This information is provided by the candidate
Statement for Diane Howard, Candidate for the Redwood City Council.
Name: Diane Howard Occupation: Nurse / Former Councilmember Education and Qualifications: As a former Mayor and Councilmember, I spearheaded the renaissance of Downtown, the creation of a successful water recycling program, a new City Hall, library, fire station, two community centers, and the renovation of multiple parks and playgrounds, all while maintaining a balanced budget. I championed community participation, most notably, in developing our General Plan and Downtown Precise Plan. I will use my experience to address issues that are important to all of us: public safety, maintenance of our infrastructure, job creation, and thoughtful housing development, while maintaining financial stability. I will work to create parking solutions, new recreational opportunities, and methods to move people effectively throughout our community. I will continue to work closely with County, State, and School officials to make the best use of your tax dollars. I believe I can make an immediate contribution to Redwood City. I have delivered for you in the past and, if you give me the opportunity, I will do so again. My husband, Steve, and I have lived in Redwood City for 32 years. We love our community and want Redwood City to be the very best place to live, work and raise a family. I respectfully ask for your vote. http://www.dianehoward.org.
