Candidate for
Council Member; City of San Mateo

For three years, I have been serving San Mateo residents as a Public Works Commissioner and now I serve as the Chair of the Public Works Commission. We have worked hard to represent the needs and concerns of the community on issues like paving our streets, water, our storm drains and sewers, trash collection, and recycling. My guiding principals are:
-Keep an open dialogue with stakeholders
-Ensure public and transparent processes and decision making
-Do the most good for the most people
-Protect the vulnerable

Now, I am running for City Council to serve all San Mateo residents. I am running for City Council because serving San Mateo and its residents matters to me. Building an infrastructure that supports all modes of transportation is critical to building neighborhoods for kids to go to school and for families to walk to our parks. Building a strong police force with smart strategies and tactics is critical to attracting and retaining families and businesses. Strategic action on land use issues is critical to preparing for San Mateo's future. With these priorities in mind, my goals are:

-Prioritize ALL modes of transportation
-Promote sustainability projects around the city including recycled water a
-Enhance Downtown San Mateo to support eating, shopping, working, and playing in Central Park
-Support economic development Downtown to bolster San Mateo's recovery from the recession
-Clean up our beach for recreation
