We have seen a decline in voter turnout. Many simply choose not to go because they feel their politicians are already bought and sold to the highest bidders.

They forget that they, the voters, are the ones who decide who will get elected to office. When you, as a voter, go to your polling station and vote, you are making our democracy work. When you sit at home and just watch the polls come in to announce dismal results, it was your decision too!

My political philosophy is simple: I am engaging government by running for office and bringing awareness to issues that normally would not get much attention. Two years ago, I advocated for satellite campuses and, today, that is closer to becoming a reality! I plan to run on less than $1,000. That means I won't be beholden to any large money interests and it sends an honest message to voters that alternative policies and opinions exist at election time. I hope you, like me, will study to determine which candidates to vote for that will best run our school and college boards.
