We need to get tough on our positions on both the gangs and the criminal homeless.This is an issue I hear constantly from business owners and citizens of Santa Barbara and I am also sick of it and have been for years. the reason these problems have gotten worse are many,but I think the biggest problem is our leaders have allowed it. I remember when the only thing you could find wrong with Santa Barbara was the taste of the water. I believe we need to continue programs that offer help and are effective but we also need to send out the message to people who are creating these problems.We will not tolerate your type of activity and we will use every law on the books including writing new laws to put an end these activities. WE need to clean up State St. and all of downtown of the elements that are driving business away. We need to protect neighborhoods from gang activity and gang retaliation on citizens. |
