Greg Brockbank: Dedicated to His Community

Raised in Marin

Greg has called Marin home since he was eleven. This is where he found his appreciation for open spaces, tree-lined neighborhood streets and small business owners who are the backbone of our local economy. That's why he has been active in so many local organizations for nearly three decades + to maintain the quality of life we've all come to appreciate. He has chaired over a dozen groups and served as a board member of dozens more, including the Public Education Coalition of Marin and Environmental Forum of Marin. He co-founded the North San Rafael Coalition of Residents to advocate on behalf of our neighborhoods and currently serves on the steering committee of the Federation of San Rafael Neighborhoods.

Succesful Business Owner and Attorney

Professionally, Greg has worked as an attorney for 28 years and currently owns and operates his own small business, Marin Law Center, where he helps families and working people with various legal issues. Greg has also been active in the business community and has served as a board member of the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce and chaired the Chamber's Leadership Institute. He shares the Chamber's commitment to affordable housing downtown and currently serves on the Green Business Committee.

Helping His Community

Throughout his time working on behalf of our community, Greg has never shied away from tough problems. For 18 years, through difficult times, he was a College of Marin Trustee and served with distinction. He helped increase enrollment, stabilize funding, and pass a bond measure for new facilities. In 2007, Greg was elected to the San Rafael City Council. During his first term, he helped develop the city's first Climate Change Action Plan, and he played a key role in San Rafael's joining the Marin Energy Authority. He fought to approve minor-league baseball and, in order to protect the vitality of San Rafael's local economy, Greg stood with local business owners fighting a big-box retailer.
