Safe and Empowered Neighborhoods

By Jose Gutierrez

Candidate for Mayor; City of Hawthorne

This information is provided by the candidate
Together, we can put our neighborhoods first and implement an agenda to improve the communities we all love.
I've lived in Hawthorne for the past decade, raising my family in this city that I love. For four of those years I served my local community as the President of the Holly Park Homeowners Association. During that time we built strong ties with our police department. We strengthened our neighborhood watch program, reducing crime. We introduced the Clean Sweep Program, working closely with trash haulers to eliminate trash, graffiti and clean up our streets.

These are programs that improved quality of life in Holly Park, and I'd like to take them citywide. These are also program that highlight my dedication to ensuring our city is defined by safe and empowered neighborhoods.

That's why I've been endorsed by Neighborhood Association Presidents across Hawthorne:

- Gary Parsons: Former Councilman and Hollyglen Homeowners Association President
- Dan Mills: North Hawthorne Community Association President
- Jason Gromski: Ramona Neighborhood Association President

Together, we can put our neighborhoods first and implement an agenda to improve the communities we all love. As Mayor, I'll work with the police department to strengthen neighborhood watch programs. I'll ask the police department to provide monthly, neighborhood based crime reports to the HOAs. I'll work to increase our dedicated police force to 100 officers strong. And I'll work tirelessly to ensure our kids have a safe place to learn, live and play.

If this is the Hawthorne you'd like to live in, on November 5th, I'd like your vote.
