Occupation: Mother/Non-Profit Director
Age: 49
Education and Qualifications:

As San Jose Vice Mayor, Councilmember, and leader of two community organizations, I've spent years fighting to keep our community safe and secure, and a place fostering economic opportunity. I bring that same commitment to the Board of Supervisors. I've lived in this community for 20 years. I went to school and received my Bachelor's degree here. I met my husband here and we're raising our 12-year old son here. We have seen extraordinary changes to our community and we know that many neighbors struggle just to get by.

We need safe, vibrant schools so our children can thrive - good paying jobs and affordable healthcare so families can succeed - more police and sheriff deputies on our streets.

As Vice Mayor, I led efforts to bring jobs, neighborhood policing and affordable healthcare to this community. At the South Bay Labor Council, I helped lead campaigns to increase the minimum wage and continue funding for the Children's Health Insurance program. Strong schools, safe streets and good paying jobs and protecting our elderly are imperatives for us all.

I believe in public service. I am passionate about helping people. I have a record of getting things done. I respectfully ask for your vote.
