NANCY A. WALKER, ESQUIRE

CANDIDATE FOR JUDGE

COURT OF COMMON PLEAS OF DELAWARE COUNTY

Nancy A. Walker is a resident of Nether Providence where she lives with her middle school daughter. She is the owner of Walker Law Offices, PC located in Media, and practices labor, employment and special education law. Nancy earned both her Bachelor of Arts and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Pittsburgh. During law school, she served as an Executive Editor on the University of Pittsburgh Law Review and interned for Judge Fred I. Parker while he was serving as a District Judge in the District of Vermont and who later served on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Nancy has focused her practice on representing working men and women for more than 20 years. Notably, Nancy represented the American Postal Workers Union during the 2001 anthrax crisis to ensure that certain postal facilities were safe for employees. She has published articles and spoken on labor and employment issues on numerous occasions for a variety of organizations, including the National Academy of Arbitrators, the American Bar Association, the American Arbitration Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and the AFL-CIO Lawyers' Coordinating Committee national conferences. She is a contributing editor for The Developing Labor Law and the 2005 Supplement to Elkouri & Elkouri, How Arbitration Works.

Nancy is a member of various bar associations, including the Delaware County Bar Association, the Delaware County Trial Lawyers Association, attorney organizations and the AFL-CIO Lawyers' Coordinating Committee. Nancy served on the board of the Labor Employment Relations Association, Philadelphia Chapter, and is co-chair of the American Bar Association's Labor and Employment Law Mock Trial Competition in New York City. She has been a volunteer advocate with the Support Center for Child Advocates for many years and was recently honored as a Distinguished Advocate by that organization.
