Hello my name is Dominic J Pirocchi and I am running for re-election in Oxford Area School District. I am a lifelong Republican seeking the Republican nomination in the upcoming primary election. I am a true believer in limited and smaller government. Protect individual rights; we are strongest as a community when each of us is free to pursue liberty and happiness in our own way. So long as in that pursuit we are not infringing on another individual's rights and their liberty or happiness. These are basic rights protected by the US Constitution, the blueprint of this great nation. Every child living within Oxford Area School District is one of our students where parents are the most qualified to choose what is best for their family. Students need to come first; they are paramount and our future. We must offer them the best education possible. In addition to freedom my philosophies include accountability and personal responsibilities where you pay for the services you use and do not pay for any services you do not use. There are strategies to reduce expenditures within the district that are not being utilized. We should explore these prior to asking our tax payers to pay more. I am the only incumbent running that has never voted to increase your property tax. The largest of your local taxes, the School Board needs to be a more efficient steward of that money. I am not your traditional Republican candidate in this respect. I openly opposed the Republican leadership when it came to granting you greater freedom of choice at the polls. I care more about good governance than politics. I supported at-large elections for OASD as practice that over sixty percent of other PA school districts already employ. You as a voter should have to opportunity to vote for candidates that align with your beliefs rather than for ones that simple live slightly closer to you. If, we had at-large in this election you would have had seven names to choose four from. Rather the Republican leadership fought to only give you limited choices when casting your votes to only two of the four seats this election and five of the nine seats overall, based on where you live within the district. Send a message to them that you demand greater choice in our elections. That we are one school district and our elections should reflect that. You want the right to cast a vote for all nine members of the school board. The opportunity to vote for every school board member that directly determines the amount of your largest local tax. Please consider me as your Republican candidate for school board and cast your vote for me, Dominic J Pirocchi. Thank you.
