There are some smart people who work in City Hall, but they don't have all the answers. We must engage every day Pittsburghers to be a part of solving our every-day problems and move our city forward. To begin this transformation, we must start with the practice of leading by example.

In a Wheatley administration, transparency, accessibility and accountability at every level of city government will be paramount. During each quarter of the year, Jake will conduct a town hall meeting in a different neighborhood of Pittsburgh. This will be designed so that at least one town hall meeting will be held in the East, North, South and West portion of the city so that citizens will be able to interact with the Mayor and members of his administration. Government must hear directly from its citizens on the quality of services being delivered, development issues as well as the ideas for how we make Pittsburgh better.

Modernizing and improving our technological delivery system. It is time for Pittsburgh to engage our technology community and a Wheatley administration will do that for the purpose of making government more effective, efficient and save tax dollars. A one year initiative will be put in place to challenge and will be open to anyone who can create, through advanced technological applications, systems that can demonstrate how the city can provide services and reduce costs.

In doing so, we can develop an environment that fosters a relationship between government and technology entrepreneurs, ignites economic opportunity and breaks down the old barriers of City Hall.

In the end, Jake Wheatley will set out with the goal to make his administration the most accessible this city has ever known.
