Position Papers
Reform at City Hall in serving the small business community.
The city of Los Angeles has a well earned reputation of being hostile to the business community. There is a culture of complacency that pervades every department when small businesses try to open, expand, or improve.
Creation of ad hoc Committee on the Entertainment Industry
I will advocate strongly for creation of an ad hoc Committee of the Los Angeles City Council that can serve as a clearing house for issues important to the entertainment industry.
Public Safety and quality of life.
Quality of life is everything in our residential neighborhoods and our commercial districts. If people don't feel safe, if parents don't feel their children are safe, and if businesses don't feel safe, they don't have a quality of life. Another component to quality of life is a higher standard in our deliver of basic city services. And finally, the ability to plan, fund, and executing capital improvements in our public rights of ways, our parks, and our public institutions.
