COMPELLING ISSUES

• Measure I, which provides specifically targeted funding for infrastructure improvement and repair, must be implemented responsibly. I am committed to seeing this through with careful attention to detail. I will make sure that the monies spent and the projects commenced are done so with the best interests of our community in mind.

• One of the most significant decisions the City Council will soon make is the hiring of a new City Manager. My experience in the administrative leadership selection process and understanding of La Mirada's unique needs will enable me to contribute effectively to this all important choice for our city.

• The City of La Mirada offers many advantages that attract and retain businesses. We've been recognized as a "Most Business Friendly City" finalist for five consecutive years. I pledge to further build and strengthen our relationships within the business community, and will make every effort to attract the types of businesses that La Mirada's residents want and need.

La Mirada is a magnificent community with a rich heritage. Leading La Mirada into the future while preserving that heritage and honoring our core values is of supreme importance to me. I am firmly committed to enhancing the quality of life and safety of La Mirada's residents, while adhering to a conservative fiscal policy. Further, I remain resolute in insuring that La Mirada continues to have:

• A BALANCED BUDGET * NO CITY PROPERTY TAX * NO UTILITY TAX

Over the next few years, the issues at hand will require that tough decisions be made. Maintaining continuity on the City Council is essential at this time in La Mirada's history, and I respectfully ask that you allow me to carry on with the work I've begun.
