Educating Our Children

In the words of Diane Ravitch (NYR) "Restoring the promise of American education should mean rejuvenating public schools, not destroying them."
I am concerned that the Governor & the Republican majority have slashed funds in the state budget for education, which will have a tremendous effect on future job growth as well as the future of our children and their ability to meet educational goals to help them compete in a rapidly changing world. These cuts in education are closing the window of opportunity for our children. We have only one choice - that is to invest in our children now or we will be investing in walls and bars to imprison them later; also known as "pay now or pay later."
